A woven structure of hexaacetamidecadmium(II) polyiodide

Abstract: The coordination of the [Cd(acetamide)₆]²⁺ cation in the title compound, hexaacetamidecadmium(II) bis(triiodide) bis(diiodine), [Cd(C₂H₅NO)₆](I₃)₂·2I₂, is octahedral. The I atoms form a woven structure consisting of alternating triidodide anions and iodine molecules. Cd atoms and triiodide anions lie on inversion centres.
