Butane-1,4-diammonium tetrathiomolybdate(VI)

Abstract: The structure of the title complex, (C₄N₂H₁₄)[MoS₄], consists of tetrahedral tetrathiomolybdate dianions connected to butane-1,4-diammonium dications, (1,4-bnH₂)²⁺, via hydrogen bonding. The compound contains two crystallographically independent butane-1,4-diammonium dications in the asymmetric unit, both of which are located around centres of inversion. The anions are located in general positions.
