Abstract: In the betaine title compound, C₇H₇NO₃·H₂O or HOC₅H₄N⁺CH₂CO₂^-·H₂O, 3-hydroxypyridinium-1-acetate interacts with the water molecule to form a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded framework.
