Abstract: The title compound, C₂₀H₂₂O₇, was prepared by reaction of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde and 1-chloro-2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethane. Intermolecular C-HO hydrogen-bonding contributes to the stability of the structure in the solid state.
