Abstract: Reaction of Co(NCS)₂ and 2-aminobenzonitrile (ABN) produces the title one-dimensional polymer, [Co(NCS)₂(ABN)₂]_n, where ABN is 2-aminobenzonitrile (C₇H₆N₂). Octahedrally coordinated Co^II ions are bridged by the ABN molecules, which are coordinated to the central metal via the N donors of the cyano and nitrile groups.
