Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, C₁₃H₉ClN₂O₂, is approximately planar and displays a trans configuration with respect to the central N=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 3.69 (14)°. The molecules are linked by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network.
