3,3'-(1,4-Naphthalenedimethylene)bis(1-methylimidazolium) diiodide monohydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, C₂₀H₂₂N₄²⁺·2I^-·H₂O, the two imidazolium rings are twisted away from the central naphthalene plane by 76.6 (1) and 74.5 (1)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-HI, C-HO and C-HI hydrogen bonds.
