Bis(thiosemicarbazide)zinc(II) bis(maleate) dihydrate

S.-L. Li, J.-Y. Wu, Y.-P. Tian, H.-K. Fun and S. Chantrapromma

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(CH5N3S)2(H2O)2](C4H3O4)2·2H2O, the ZnII ion lies on a centre of symmetry and is coordinated by two pairs of N and S atoms from two symmetry-related thiosemicarbazide ligands and two O atoms from two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, the components are effectively linked together by electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonds of the O-H...O, N-H...O and N-H...S types into a three-dimensional network.
