4O:O'-bis[(1,10-phenanthroline-
2N,N')(phenylacetato-
O)cobalt(II)]Abstract: The title molecule, [Co2(C8H7O2)4(C12H8N2)2(H2O)], is a dinuclear CoII complex which is located on a twofold symmetry axis. Each CoII ion is six-coordinated by three O atoms of different phenylacetate ligands, two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and one O atom of a water molecule, giving a distorted octahedral geometry. The two CoII atoms are bridged by two phenylacetate groups and the water molecule lying on the twofold axis. The Co
Co distance is 3.553 (2) Å. A one-dimensional supramolecular chain is constructed by

stacking interactions between adjacent 1,10-phenanthroline molecules.
