-6-methylpyridin-2-olato-ditungsten toluene sesquisolvateAbstract: The red title compound, [W2(C6H6NO)4]·1.5C7H8, contains isolated W2(hmp)4 molecules (hmp is 6-methylpyridin-2-olate) in which the W-W separation of 2.1617 (5) Å is consistent with the expected tungsten-tungsten quadruple bond. The complex molecule cocrystallizes with 1.5 molecules of toluene. One toluene molecule is disordered about a crystallographic inversion center, and the other, in a general position, is also disordered.
