Abstract: The title compound, [Eu₂(H₂I₂O₁₀)(H₂O)₆](ClO₄)₂·2H₂O, is isostructural with the corresponding Pr, Sm and Gd phases. It features Eu³⁺ cations, which are coordinated by centrosymmetric H₂I₂O₁₀^4- anions and water molecules, forming positively charged sheets, separated by perchlorate anions and non-coordinated water molecules.
