Triaqua(2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')(3-carboxyphenoxyacetato-O)manganese(II) 3-carboxyphenoxyacetate monohydrate

Abstract: In the title complex, [Mn(C₉H₇O₅)(C₁₀H₈N₂)(H₂O)₃](C₉H₇O₅)·H₂O or [Mn(3-CPOAH^-)(2,2'-bipy)(H₂O)₃](3-CPOAH^-)·H₂O (where 3-CPOAH^- is the 3-carboxyphenoxyacetate monoanion and 2,2'-bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine), the Mn^II ion has a distorted octahedral geometry involving one O atom of the 3-CPOAH^- group, two N atoms of the 2,2'-bipy ligand and three water molecules. A three-dimensional supramolecular network is constructed via O-HO hydrogen-bonding and - stacking interactions.
