Abstract: In the centrosymmetric title compound, C₁₆H₂₀N₄^2-·Br₂⁺, the Br counter-ions form hydrogen bonds with protonated imidazole groups. Neighbouring cations are held together via weak C-HBr hydrogen bonds and offset - interactions, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure.
