Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₁₁N₅O·C₃H₇NO, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde with malononitrile and ammonium acetate under microwave irradiation. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and benzene planes is 56.07 (8)°.
