Bis(thiosemicarbazide)cadmium(II) bis(maleate) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(CH₅N₃S)₂(H₂O)₂](C₄H₃O₄)₂·2H₂O, the Cd^II ion lies on a centre of symmetry and is coordinated by two pairs of N and S atoms from two symmetry-related thiosemicarbazide ligands and two O atoms from two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, the components are effectively linked together by electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonds of the O-HO, N-HO and N-HS types into a three-dimensional network.
