Abstract: The title compound, C₂₅H₂₈O₆, -mangostin, is a xanthone which was isolated from Cratoxylum formosum ssp. pruniforum. O-HO and C-HO intramolecular hydrogen bonds are observed in the molecular structure. In the crystal packing, inversion-related molecules are stacked along the a axis with C-H and - interactions.
