Triaqua(2,2'-bipyridine)(2-sulfonatobenzoato)cobalt(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₇H₄O₅S)(C₁₀H₈N₂)(H₂O)₃], the Co^II atom has a distorted octahedral geometry formed by three aqua O atoms, one carboxylate O atom from a 2-sulfonatobenzoate dianion and two N atoms of a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. Intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear units into a two-dimensional network structure.
