3-[2-(Hydroxymethyl)anilino]-1-phenylbut-2-en-1-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₇NO₂, has been synthesized by the condensation reaction of benzoylacetone and 2-hydroxymethylaniline. The molecules are connected via O-HO(=C) hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric R₂²(16) dimers.
