Abstract: The title compound, C₁₂H₆Br₄, is isostructural with the corresponding Cl analogue. The molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis which runs perpendicular to the central C-C bond and the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 85.2 (2)°.
