-Furan-2,5-diylbis(methoxycarbene)-bis[pentacarbonylchromium(0)]

Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, [Cr₂(C₈H₈O₃)(CO)₁₀], comprises two octahedrally coordinated Cr atoms, each with five carbonyl ligands, and with a bis(methoxycarbene)furan ligand bridging the two Cr centres. The planar furan ring is coplanar with the two methoxycarbene groups. Structural data reveal some electron delocalization from one Cr atom to the other via the conjugated bridging bis-carbene ligand.
