Abstract: Single crystals of senecio lactone, C₈H₈O₄, isolated from Senecio scandens Buch-Ham, were obtained from an acetone solution. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked to each other by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds involving a ketone group and the hydroxyl group.
