Abstract: Single crystals of senecio lactone, C8H8O4, isolated from Senecio scandens Buch-Ham, were obtained from an acetone solution. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked to each other by intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds involving a ketone group and the hydroxyl group.
