Abstract: The title compound, K+·C14H9O3-·2H2O, was prepared by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution of potassium 2-benzoylbenzoate. Potassium cations are coordinated by six O atoms of two 2-benzoylbenzoate anions and three water molecules in a polymeric structure with bridging ligands. There are intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure.
