{2-[(Benzylmethylamino)methyl]ferrocene-²N,C¹}chloro(dimethyl sulfoxide-S)platinum(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [PtCl{Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₄H₁₄NO)}(C₂H₆SO)] or [FePt(C₅H₅)(C₁₄H₁₅N)Cl(C₂H₆OS)], the Pt^II atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The substituted cyclopentadienyl plane is nearly perpendicular to the plane of the benzene ring [dihedral angle = 84.6 (1)°].
