Hydrogen-bond-driven self-assembly of bis(3-benzylpentane-2,4-dionato)(nicotinamide)copper(II) in the solid state

N. Judas and B. Kaitner

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C12H13O2)2(C6H6N2O)], a nicotinamide adduct of bis(3-benzylpentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II), the metal ion exhibits a square-pyramidal coordination environment. The molecules of the complex self-assemble in the solid state by way of amide-to-amide hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional polymers.
