(R)-(-)-[1-(1-Naphthyl)ethyl]salicylaldimine

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₉H₁₇NO, the -conjugated system formed by the phenol-imine tautomer is essentially planar. An intramolecular O-HN hydrogen bond is formed between the phenol OH group and the Schiff base N atom. The crystal packing is stabilized by van der Waals forces.
