3-Amino-1-(4-nitrobenzyl)pyridinium bromide

Abstract: In the cation of the title compound, C₁₂H₁₂N₃O₂⁺·Br^-, the pyridine and benzene rings are almost orthogonal. The amino N atom is displaced slightly from the plane of the pyridine ring. In the crystal structure, N-HBr hydrogen bonds link two cations and two anions into centrosymmetric clusters. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak intermolecular C-HO interactions.
