Abstract: The title complex, [Cu(C₁₂H₁₈N₂O₈)(H₂O)]·2H₂O, crystallizes with the tetradentate ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (edta) diester derivative and one water molecule forming a pyramidal environment. The vacant site of the octahedral complex is remotely associated with an O atom of one of the carbonyl atoms of the edta derivative.
