Abstract: The title compound, C₂₁H₂₂N₂O₃, (2S,12S)-methyl 2-[(1E)-1-formyl-1-propenyl]-1,2,6,7,12,12b-hexahydroindolo[2,3-]quinolizine-3-carboxylic acid, exhibits a rare vallesiachotamane skeleton. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a chain.
