Abstract: The structure of the title compound, Cs3La11(SeO3)12Cl12, consists of complex slabs of composition [La22(SeO3)24] that are stacked along the a axis and are separated by sublayers of either chloride anions or caesium chloride. All SeO3 groups show the typical pyramidal shape. The Se-O bond distances vary from 1.672 (6) to 1.747 (6) Å.
