Abstract: The title compound, C₁₂H₁₆O₄, has an unconventional weak hydrogen-bonding pattern. A network of weak intermolecular hydrogen bonds between an alkane group and the carbonyl groups stabilizes the molecular packing. The asymmetric unit contains one half-molecule and the complete molecule is generated by an inversion center.
