Abstract: The title compound, C9H9N5O5S, was prepared by the reaction of 5-mesyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)tetrazole with formaldehyde in a solution of acetonitrile and triethylamine. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked together by a complex set of hydrogen bonds, forming polymeric sheets parallel to the bc plane, with van der Waals interactions between them.
