Bis(tetra-n-butylammonium) tetrabromocadmate(II) toluene disolvate

Abstract: The title compound, (C₁₆H₃₆N)₂[CdBr₄]·2C₇H₈, consists of a [CdBr₄]^2- anion possessing crystallographic symmetry and two tetra-n-butylammonium cations of twofold symmetry accompanied by two toluene molecules disordered around a twofold axis. The anion is enclosed within a cage formed of four cations and four solvent molecules.
