Abstract: The title compound, [Cu₂Mo₁₂O₄₀P(C₁₂H₈N₂)₄], was obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of Na₂MoO₄·2H₂O, Cu(CH₃COO)₂·H₂O, NH₄VO₃, 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and H₃PO₄. The structure determination shows that two {Cu(phen)₂} fragments are supported by the reduced -Keggin polyoxoanion [PMo^VI₁₁Mo^VO₄₀]^4- through a terminal O atom and a bridging oxygen atom from opposite sides of the Keggin structure.
