2-Amino-4-(2-chlorophenyl)-7,7-dimethyl-1-(4-methylphenyl)-5-oxo-1,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydroquinoline-3-carbonitrile

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₅H₂₄ClN₃O, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-chlorophenylmethylidenemalononitrile and 3-(4-tolylamino)-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enone in the presence of triethylbenzylammonium chloride in an aqueous medium. All bond lengths and angles are normal. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains extending in the [101] direction.
