4-Methylacetophenone [(2-methyl-4-nitro-1H-imidazol-1-yl)acetyl]hydrazone

Abstract: In the title molecule, C₁₅H₁₇N₅O₃, the nitro group lies in the plane of the imidazole group, which makes a dihedral angle of 59.9 (2)° with the benzene ring. Intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak C-HO and C-HN interactions.
