Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, C9H13NO3, is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
O and N-H
O hydrogen bonds, leading to a two-dimensional network extending parallel to the (001) plane. The absolute configuration has been assigned by reference to the chiral hydroxy C atom, which remains unchanged during the synthetic procedure.
