Tetrakis(₂-2,2-dimethylpropanoato-²O,O')bis[(pyridine-N)copper(II)]

Abstract: The title compound, [Cu₂(C₅H₉O₂)₄(C₅H₅N)₂], consists of centrosymmetric binuclear cage units with four dimethylpropanoate bridges linking the two Cu centres [CuCu = 2.6229 (9) Å]. The square-pyramidal Cu coordination is completed by a pyridine N atom at the apical site. A - stacking interaction helps to consolidate the crystal packing.
