(E)-4-(4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)but-3-en-2-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₁H₁₂O₃, was synthesized from 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde and acetone. The molecule has a high degree of conjugation throughout the system and intermolecular hydrogen bonds connect adjacent molecules to form one-dimensional chains.
