Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C₁₂H₂₇O₃SSi)₂(C₇H₉N)], is a molecular heteroleptic cadmium thiolate containing an additional 3,5-dimethylpyridine ligand. The Cd^II ion is located at the centre of the trigonal bipyramid formed by five atoms, viz. two S, two O and one N. Molecules pack as discrete units, with no short intermolecular contacts.
