9,9-Bis(ethoxycarbonylethyl)-9H-fluorene

Abstract: In the title compound [systematic name: diethyl 3,3'-(9H-fluorene-9,9-diyl)dipropionate], C₂₃H₂₆O₄, the fluorene ring system is planar. The ethoxycarbonylethyl groups display extended conformations and are nearly perpendicular to the fluorene plane. A weak intermolecular C-HO interaction occurs in the crystal structure.
