Abstract: In the title compound, [Ni(C₁₆H₃₆N₄)][CuCl₄], the cation is centrosymmetric and the anion lies on a twofold rotation axis. The cation and anion are linked by weak N-HCl hydrogen bonds to form neutral supramolecular zigzag chains.
