Abstract: The Cu atom in the title compound, [Cu(C₆H₆N₂O)₂(H₂O)₄](C₆H₂N₃O₇)₂, exists in an all trans-O₄N₂Cu octahedron; the anion interacts indirectly with the cation through the coordinated water molecules. Hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional network.
