Tetrakis(diethylenetriammonium) tris[hexacyanoferrate(II)] octahydrate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title complex, (C₄H₁₆N₃)₄[Fe(CN)₆]₃·8H₂O, comprises two [H₃N(CH₂)₂NH₂(CH₂)₂NH₃]³⁺ cations, 1.5 octahedral [Fe(CN)₆]^4- anions and four solvent water molecules; one anion is located on a center of inversion. Extensive hydrogen bonding of the types O-HO, N and N-HN, involving all components of the structure, leads to a three-dimensional array.
