Abstract: The title compound, [Sn₄(C₄H₉)₈(C₈H₅Cl₂O₃)₄O₂], is a cluster built up by inversion symmetry around the central Sn₂O₂ ring. Both unique SnO₃C₂ centres have a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry with the O atoms in axial positions.
