N,N'-Bis(2,6-dichlorobenzylidene)hydrazine

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₈Cl₄N₂, was synthesized by the reaction of 2,6-dichlorobenzaldehyde with hydrazine hydrate. The two benzene rings are nearly parallel, forming a dihedral angle of 2.9 (4)°. A weak intermolecular C-HN hydrogen bond links the molecules into an infinite chain running along [100].
