Abstract: The title compound, C18H42N42+·2CNS-, contains diprotonated cations located about centres of inversion, with charge balance provided by thiocyanate anions. Intermolecular N-H...N and N-H...S hydrogen bonds are formed in the crystal structure, which comprises columns of macrocyclic cations that define channels in which the thiocyanate anions reside.
