11-(4-Fluorophenyl)-7,11-dihydrobenzo[f]furo[3,4-b]quinolin-10(8H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₁H₁₄FNO₂, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-fluorobenzaldehyde, 2-naphthylamine and tetronic acid in water under microwave irradiation. The dihydropyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation. N-HO hydrogen bonds link symmetry-related molecules into a chain along the b axis.
