(E)-3-Ferrocenyl-1-(4-tolylphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one

Abstract: In the title compound, [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₂₁H₁₇O)], significant conformational differences in the ferrocenyl-C(H)=C(H)C(=O)R groups distinguish the two independent molecules comprising the asymmetric unit. C-H interactions appear to influence the crystal packing.
