In the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C21H17O)], significant conformational differences in the ferrocenyl-C(H)=C(H)C(=O)R groups distinguish the two independent mol­ecules comprising the asymmetric unit. C—H...π inter­actions appear to influence the crystal packing.

Special details top

Geometry. All e.s.d.'s (except the e.s.d. in the dihedral angle between two l.s. planes) are estimated using the full covariance matrix.
