Abstract: The title compound, [P(C6H5)4][FeBr3(CH3CN)], contains an anionic tetrahedral iron complex arranged in layers between [P(C6H5)4]+ cations. The Fe, one Br, one N and two C atoms have site symmetry m, and the P atom has site symmetry 2.
